To my knowledge, the rockyou list is the biggest ever published (32+
million) compromised passwords (although they are not complex
passwords). Here is a very nice write-up on the password contents by
Matt Weir.

Matt did his undergrad work at VT and is very active in the password
cracking community. His Ph.D focused on password cracking techniques.
The dissertation, posted on his blog, is a good read (especially chapter
5).He competed in the 2010 Defcon cracking contest as well... which was
lot's of fun... we cracked 95% of the NT password hashes in 48 hours.
