Hi All,
We use a distributed system to gather and publisch ETD's from different school
for higher education in Flanders (Belgium). We developed the software which is
java and xml based, OAI-compliant and makes use of the ETD-MS metadataset. At
the moment we're working on the OAI search interface which will be available
for
the public hopefully for the end of this year. The different repositories who
are using the system are already searchable through their own local interfaces.
( for instance http:doks.khk.be/eindwerk). We're also planning to make all this
an open source project. Anyone interested can contact me about this. More
general information about our project can be found at http://doks.khk.be
Because it's mainly a system for a dutch speaking community, it might be not
that interesting for some of you. (Altough it's easily adaptable and we use a
multilangual interface)
Biggest challenge was to convince different schools to participate and make
agreements on metadatasets and so on.
Regards
Rudi Baccarne
