Thanks, Phil. I had not been using stored searches, and now see it is
useful. Problem is stored searches seem to attach to one file. I'd prefer if
stored search could apply to any file. Some of my files are also closely
related but perhaps with varying emphasis, and I frequently search across
When I click Help in Search Multiple Files, I'm informed that Help does not
exist: Contact Vendor for an updated Help file. (129)

| There is a valid reason for what you call the "extra" step in naming a
| multiple file search. In the past, there was no way to save multiple file
| searches. Whereas now, once you configure a multiple file search, you name
| it and can run it at will without having to reenter all the search

| misfiled a document in one database, when I'm searching for it in another.
| I'm not sure that you can do what you want, i.e., export the results of a
| multiple file search. Multiple File searches are a quick tool to find out
| what files you're getting hits based on your search terms. You then have
| open each file individually. If you then want to export the documents for
| which you got hits, you're going to have to set up another search in that
| file either as a stored search or by Exporting Select Documents and
| re-entering the same search criteria.
| I hope this helps.

| There seems to be an extra step in searching multiple files, in that one
| must now give each multiple file search a name when that was not necessary
| I want to search 5 or 6 files for 7 names, each separated with "or". When
| the results pop up, I want to export those files but the export prompt
| me to retype the names. Is there a way it can know what I want to export,
| based on the requirements of the multiple file search, without having to
| restate it?
| Thanks for the courtesy of the reply, even after the start of the weekend.
| | Bonnie,
| | It seems to work OK here. If you type in the name of file search and
| click Create, you can select the files you want to search and then you can
| enter the search criteria.

| | Major problem with this release: click "Search Multiple
| | Files," wrong dialog box comes up. It is the dialog for "stored search"
| | whereas it should be dialog to create a new search of multiple files.
| | Same box appears after pressing "stored searches."
