Johan,
Is it not even easier than you say to import messages from Eudora into AskSam? In the file import dialogue you can choose Eudora as the file type.
I think the problem Pete is experiencing is that you can't import the messages into a data entry form and get the field data placed into the fields on the entry form. If you forget about the entry form it should work OK.

gives? How can I import my Eudora email messages into an askSam
database
so that the from, to and subject information in the message populate
the
from, to and subject fields in the askSam document?
Hi
Importing Eudora into askSam is one of the easiest askSam import
procedures. Reason is that a Eudora .mbx file is straight forward ASCII
without complicated fields and fieldnames. And each message is
delineated from the next with a few simple characters. I cannot remember
these characters from the top of my head, but if you should open a .mbx
file with a file editor such as Vedit (use a file editor and NOT a word
processor!) you'll see those characters. Then simply use the unique
character as the delimiter in the askSam import procedure.
Maybe someone on the list can advise us on the Eudora delimiter. I
think it's "@".
