The EDIT --> FIND and the EDIT --> REPLACE commands show a strange
behaviour. Using the option "Find whole words only", a word with characters
like á, ñ, æ, ß etc (mainly diacritic and other special characters in
foreign languages) is treated as two or more logical items.
Two examples from the Spanish language:
1. FIND "rica" (whole word only) will find "rica" and "América" as well -
which is false. In this case, the "é" has cut "América" into two separate
words.
When performing a local search, this won't cause too much trouble. But with
REPLACE, this could end in fatal results - especially when applying it to a
whole file - see...
2. REPLACE "rica" with "hermosa" (whole word only). When AS meets a
sentence like...
"América es muy rica"
it will be turned into...
"Améhermosa es muy hermosa"
This seems to happen with all characters below ANSI 65 and above ANSI 122.
The problem is not to be found in an ordinary word processor like MS Word.
Is this going to be fixed?
