Thanks for the reply, but you address only one of the issues raised in the recent posts.  Another common theme to them were complaints about excessive security features which render SurfSaver unusuable if the program or its files should be moved.

My own experience (with version 1.5 I think) was that the program no longer functioned after moving the saved data files from one drive to another, after a second harddrive on which I kept data files crashed. The search and browse features, which mighth have let me indicate where the data files could be found, never did work. A lack of documentation and the fact that I couldn't get it to work again, even after a running correspondence with askSam tech support, led me to uninstall lthe program.
