I downloaded and installed askSam v. 3.0 K this evening, and discovered
an apparent bug in the new version. I've designed a number of reports
that make use of the "Limit field length" feature, in which the field
name is followed by a number of plus (+) signs to truncate the field
contents. Until I installed the new version, this feature worked just
fine, but now it either displays nothing, or only a portion of the field
contents.
I even tested it using askSam's own sample database, Reports.ASK. If you
run the "Field Length" report, only those fields using the "X" character
to limit column width are displayed.
If necessary, I'll change all of my pluses to "Xs" -- but I have about
30 different reports. Is there a fix available?
On a better note -- the date comparison problem (transitioning from 1999
to 2000) seems to be working great. I needed to convert newly entered
dates from the MM/DD/00 format to MM/DD/2000, but once done, all date
comparisons are working fine.
